Singer - songwriter and recording artist, Crickett Allen's single Born in Georgia is a bluesy Georgia anthem celebrating heritage and family. Born in Georgia is not only an anthem for all Georgia sports fans, but it also carries a universal theme of family and heritage.
"This song means so much to me. Born in Georgia honors my family and reminds us that the generations before us went through trials too. We all go through hard times, but going through it with family is sure better than going it alone," says Allen. Crickett adds, "We had so much fun in the studio. Working with Rory gave me the freedom to trust myself and just create. It's a perfect fit."The band consists of Crickett Allen on vocals piano and synthesizer strings; Ren Halverson on lead, slide guitar and background vocals; Rory Knapton on drums; Charles Shearer on organ and Bill Lukitsch on bass. The cover was designed by Kelly Clague featuring Bob Herrin's photo of a lane of Georgian oaks heavy with spanish moss. Clague is a creative director whose credits include Tim McGraw.
Born In Georgia purposely represents the sounds of the south. The musicians capture the deep blues influence of what makes southern country rock unique. "Crickett's vocals are the real deal - powerful and soulful," says Rory Knapton of Golden Isles Records.
